About DermNet NZ

DermNet NZ is the website of the New Zealand Dermatological Society Incorporated. We aim to present authoritative facts about the skin for consumers and health professionals in New Zealand and throughout the world. The site was launched in March 1996. The website has been hosted on MediaTemple.net servers since March 2004.

Please refer to our page 'What is a dermatologist' to find out how dermatologists are trained. We are medical specialists in skin diseases, conditions and their treatment.
